If you missed the Spencer Duncan 5K on August 2nd, you missed a morning of smiles, tears, hugs, and lots of sweat! In all, over 800 runners (including over 20 from VU) and dozens of volunteers got together to honor the memory of 31 fallen heroes and raise money to support our local veterans. This far about $40,000 has been raised, with contributions still coming in. This money will help returning veterans go to school, enroll in entrepreneurial programs, and local families in need. The day started with a special color guard tribute, included a Chinook helicopter flyover, and finished with a special check presentation from Veterans United Foundation that was over $5,000! Thank you Kansas City for enhancing lives everyday!
